Feature — Reports & Expenses

A cash drawer that already knows what should be inside it, and reports that are correct the moment the till closes — not reconstructed at month-end.

In short

A cash-drawer count takes seconds because Roo already knows what should be in the drawer, and every report pulls from the same live sales and stock data — nothing is reconciled separately at month-end.

Roo SalonOS Today dashboard with the cash-drawer panel

The 30-second cash close

A cashier opens the drawer with a starting float. From there, Roo tracks "cash expected now" live, from every sale that's actually happened. At close, counting cash takes seconds: enter what's actually in the drawer and Roo shows the variance instantly — balanced, short, or over — with an optional note for anything unusual.

At day's end, the Owner rolls up every cash-drawer session at the branch into one day close (it won't let a session that's still open slip through), and can reopen the day if something needs correcting.

Supplier bills, tracked as they come in

Purchases and supplier bills are logged against the same stock ledger used everywhere else in Roo, so a delivery updates inventory the moment it's recorded — see Inventory.

One live view across the business

Reports pull straight from the same sales, stock, and staff data as the rest of Roo: revenue, VAT collected, material cost, commission paid, and gross profit — the same figures a report shows are the same figures that were correct at the till, not a separate reconciliation exercise.

Reports & Expenses — frequently asked

What if a cash-drawer session is still open at day's end?
The day close won't complete until every open drawer session at that branch has been counted and closed — it's blocked by design, not just a reminder.
Can the day be reopened after it's closed?
Yes — an Owner can reopen a closed day if something needs correcting.
